Taylor, actually 3, kept telling us that she was 4 going on 5, but we still loved her. Being the cutest mouse around, how could you not?

While I was waiting for the lion/Dave to arrive, I decided to shoot a little of the WPSU telethon for the station. In this shot, the station manager, Tracy Vosburgh, is on the air promoting WPSU and its premiere of the Orange Bowl Special.

Mallard duck on campus?

When I decide which of these shots I like the best, I'll take the other two down.

Same angle, different day, different sunset.

Rutgers got the best of us in the NIT game, but . . . *sigh* maybe next year, boys.

A sunset was the perfect accent to the rainstorm hovering above Happy Valley. Or was the rainstorm the perfect accent to the sunset? Who knows.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you . . .

"Oh, Oscar(s)!"

In an attempt to get the best shots, I went to the Kodak Theatre the day before, the day of and the day after the Academy Awards, but never got as close as I wanted. Unfortunately, my Penn State media credential didn't cut it at the Oscars and even if it had, I think security would have been a little suspicious when I ran up to hug one of the giant statues.

I'd like to thank Grauman's Chinese Theatre for providing the perfect hard lighting for this shot. I was walking around photographing the prints, like any good tourist would, when my dad's shadow stepped into the frame. Being that it was Bogie's square, I thought the silhouette shot paid rightful respect to the biggest star of film noir. Besides, my dad loves Bogart so it was a nice shot for him too.

After playing with the orange balloon for a while, I decided that it was time to photograph another one of my beautiful Four Diamonds friends, Katie.

Katelyn's wish to meet the Penn State cheerleaders came true! As a Four Diamonds child she was able to meet some of the girls through THON's association with the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The Make-a-Wish Athlete Hour was held in the South Gym of Rec Hall on Saturday afternoon. Crawling around the gym in my uniform must have been quite entertaining to watch had anyone been paying attention to the cheerleader with the camera. Apparently Katelyn's mom had been watching and asked if I could send her all of the pictures I was taking of her daughter. Katelyn was one of the most beautiful, kind and eloquent people I had ever met so naturally, that request absolutely made my day.

The reflection of the Helmsley Building from my window in The Roosevelt Hotel gives the viewer a unique look inside New York business life (its effects similar to an x-ray). Though I'm not sure of the name of the office building situated across the street, the photo gives the illusion of activity going on in the Helmsley. I've always felt the Helmsley was one of the more photogenic in New York City.

Developed in 1928 by The New York Central Railroad, the Helmsley Building is centrally located in midtown Manhattan at 230 Park Avenue. Formerly known as the New York Central Building, it originally served as the headquarters of the New York Central railroad companies. I took this shot on a relatively warm, foggy January evening on the trip back to the hotel from The Hayden Film Festival Awards Ceremony this year.
